What is a PDO Thread Lift?
As a nonsurgical facelift treatment, a PDO thread lift utilizes polydioxanone (PDO) threads to carefully lift and tighten the skin for a more youthful appearance. In addition to tightening the area, this treatment also helps to stimulate the production of collagen in the skin. This can allow for long-lasting results that improve over time. At Comprehensive Medical Aesthetics, Dr. Rudolph Moise and Dr. Faith Finoli are proud to offer this innovative procedure with V Soft Lift® threads for patients desiring results without the downtime associated with a more invasive treatment. How does a PDO Thread Lift work?
Prior to your treatment, our team will talk with you about your desired results in order to make a customized treatment plan. During the treatment, you will sit comfortably in one of our spacious treatment rooms, and a numbing agent may be applied to the area. Next, the threads will be carefully inserted underneath the surface of the skin. The threads will then be gently pulled in the desired area and then be trimmed as needed. The entire treatment process takes about 45 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
Following your PDO thread lift, our team will provide the necessary aftercare instruction to ensure your best possible results. Your outcome will start to become noticeable over the next 2 – 3 weeks and will continue as more collagen is produced in your skin.
PDO Thread Lift FAQ
Does a PDO thread lift hurt?
No, most patients don't experience discomfort during a PDO thread lift. Before we begin, an anesthetic will be applied to numb the treatment area so you'll be comfortable during the entire procedure. Some patients may experience minor tenderness, redness, or swelling after the procedure, but this typically goes away within a few days.
How long does a PDO thread lift take?
The procedure is very quick, often taking less than an hour to complete (about 45 minutes).
When do you see results from a PDO thread lift?
Patients may see results almost immediately; however, typically noticeable results begin to be seen within about 2 – 3 weeks that will continue to improve as the PDO threads stimulate the production of collagen in the skin.
How long do the results of a PDO thread lift last?
The results of a PDO thread lift can last up to 18 months or longer in some cases. Practicing a healthy lifestyle with a good diet, regular exercise, proper hydration, and a regular skin care routine can help to extend your results.
